Our story

Candied Bakery was first dreamt up on a trip the USA, where Founders Olando and Toula first experienced bakeries, having a blast by playing with nostalgic flavours. Their vision was to create a place that felt different, a place where the food was serious but the atmosphere wasn't.

Owning a bakery wasn't just a whim; it was Orlando’s dream since his apprentice days. It took years of discipline, living at home with Mum and Dad and putting money aside every single week to turn that dream into a reality. When Orlando and Toula returned from a holiday in Italy, the vision finally clicked.  throwing around a bunch of names, ‘Candied Bakerystuck and brought with it a unique energy.

Candied Bakery  is the result of two worlds colliding. Toula  the Chef and the energy that keeps us moving, while Orlando is the Baker and the all-rounder. Their teamwork is collaborative in every way. Feeding off each other, constantly talking shop and throwing ideas around because they really just love food. Both Toula and Orlando have their roles; they trust the process and never stop aiming for really awesome results.

Toula the girl from the west of Melbourne, Deer Park and Orlando are originally from Cobram, so they were looking for that small-town feel. We found it right here in Spotswood. It’s a community we’re proud to call home. It's only a few kilometres from the CBD, but with a community-first soul. 

The aim was to build a bakery that the locals could call their own; a happy, no-arrogance zone where everyone is welcome. Candied Bakery delivers that every day in every bake.

WE BAKE WHILE YOU SLEEP

While the neighbourhood is still sleeping, our team of bakers and pastry chefs is already through the doors. Quality takes time, and we don’t take shortcuts. We make everything ourselves, from our own pastry to our slow-cooked organic beef. Sourcing Aussie butter, free-range eggs, organic meat, and sustainable flour.

 it was made by us using patience, measurements, and a lot of heart. Candied Bakery isn’t just a weekend treat; we’re your everyday habit. From our famous cinnamon scrolls, to our bread and even a hot pie on a chilly Melbourne morning, we’re here to make sure you leave happy and satisfied.
